The
psychology transfer interest area at Lane can help prepare you to transfer to a
four year institution to work toward a career in psychology. Once enrolled,
you’ll work with your advisor to build a degree plan specific to your goals.
Lane’s psychology classes and transfer area will
get you on the right path towards your four year degree. Psychology is more
than how your brain works: psychology provides insight into how people think,
feel, and interact with each other and helps us apply that knowledge to various
spheres of human activity. Employment possibilities include careers in
counseling, social services, personnel, marketing and teaching. You’ll also be
prepared for graduate work in experimental and clinical psychology and related areas,
such as special education, social work, business, communications, law school
and the healthcare field. What you'll
learn; Human development and relations, Workplace
psychology, Memory and learning, Brain functions, Human sexuality, Social
influence, Abnormal behavior, Therapy methods. Earning your Associate of Arts,
Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree with a focus in psychology will provide you with
the credits you need to transfer to leading four year institutions for more
in-depth study. The AAOT offers you the flexibility to choose courses that
interest you while meeting university lower division general education
requirements.
