AED certified and feature a state-of-the-art laboratory designed to prepare graduates to work on highway trucks, construction equipment, forklifts, boats, recreation vehicles, trains and agriculture equipment. Ready to be a heavy equipment technician and highway truck technician? Our program gives you hands-on-learning on diverse machinery in our state-of-the-art labs, and your choice of welding classes or an educational internship, so you'll be ready for the job market. Diesel Technology is evaluated and accredited by the Association of Equipment Distributors Foundation (AEDF). Membership: Northwest Diesel Industry Council (NDIC) and Oregon Trucking Association (OTA). What you'll learn; Technologies like fuel systems, brake systems, hydraulics, powertrain and chassis Systems, engines, etc. Math skills to find force, pressure, area, volume, horse power, torque, gear ratios, etc. Industry safety standards Industry tools for diagnosis, repair, and testing. Research and communication skills. The Diesel Technology Associate Degree program provides entry-level skills needed in medium and heavy truck service and repair. Learners will use troubleshooting techniques to make a quick and accurate diagnosis of problems and make necessary adjustments and repairs. Topics will include diesel engines, suspension and steering, preventative maintenance, electrical and electronic systems, HVAC systems, the drive train and hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The curriculum combines classroom theory with practical laboratory experience on a variety of diesel engines and heavy-duty equipment.

English Language Requirement

Lane Community College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit 

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
