Welcome to the Associate of Arts Degree (Paralegal Studies)

Associate of Science in Paralegal Studies degree. Working as a paralegal will allow you to work in the profession for a few years to gain experience and begin your path toward continued law education. In paralegal associate degree program, you’ll learn how to dig deep into the facts of cases, research laws and regulations, prepare legal memoranda, arrange evidence and documents for attorneys, and much more. Paralegals are highly capable legal professionals, and although they do many things attorneys do, their services are less expensive so more and more firms are using them to keep costs down. As a paralegal, you’ll be recognized as an important member of a powerful legal team.

Career Path

Paralegals provide a variety of invaluable services within insurance companies, banks, corporations, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, offices, and law firms. Job duties often include but are not limited to conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, writing correspondence, preparing tax documents, and managing a law firm. Paralegals may also investigate cases, interview clients and witnesses, and support attorneys in preparing for trials and hearings.

English Language Requirement

Skyline College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
