The
Department of Anthropology at Özyeğin University is an interdisciplinary
research and teaching venue that distinguishes itself with its high level of
conceptual education as well as its emphasis on practice. Its mission is to
produce graduates who are able to conduct solution-oriented analysis of social,
cultural, economic and political phenomena at local and global levels based on
human experience. In the program, students learn to observe the diversity of
cultures and experiences encountered in every aspect of modern life and they
develop projects that can be applied in everyday life. Its interdisciplinary
curriculum, which is unique in Turkey, responds to the needs of the
contemporary world by focusing on courses such as Market Ethnography, Business
Anthropology, Sociology of Science and Technology, Gender, Historical Heritage.
The program provides a unique framework for understanding subcultural
differences, public opinion, consumer behavior and subcultural differences in
everyday life through qualitative and quantitative research techniques based on
participant observation and field research. Our students transition from theory
to practice starting from the 3rd year with the compulsory internship course
and practical upper-level courses.

Ozyegin University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction.
