The
Bachelor of Science in Public Administration equips students with knowledge and
skills that cover a wide range of topics and disciplines related to the public
sector. Students acquire knowledge about government bodies and agencies,
including municipal, state and federal operations in areas such as
intergovernmental relations, human resource management, public policy and
budgeting and finance. Public Administration is an applied degree within a
liberal arts setting aimed at people who wish to work in government and
non-profit organizations. Students learn a mix of skills in management, policy
and politics that will be useful in a wide variety of jobs. The program is of
particular relevance to those who intend to work in the public sector and to
those who intend to work in the rapidly growing field of non-for-profit
organizations. Choosing Public Administration means majoring in a liberal arts
program with a defined professional outcome. BPA prepares its graduates for
technical and administrative positions in governments, civil society and
international (development) organizations.
