Welcome to the Associate of Arts Degree - Theatre Arts (Transfer)

The discipline of theatre arts includes theoretical and practical courses in all aspects of theatre, providing preparation in acting, directing, and technical theatre through productions. The degree program allows for a course of study that expands and increases creativity. It is a meaningful journey of personal discovery and self expansion. It connects the study of script analysis to creating complex characters or theatrical designs. In addition, a solid foundation of fundamental skills learned through a variety of performance as well as technical theatre courses will help the student build confidence and emphasize the importance of responsibility, dedication, collaboration commitment.

Career Path

Graduates can pursue careers in: acting for stage, film, and television; voiceover for radio, TV, and video games, disk jockey; teaching drama and public speaking to children and adults in schools, theatres, and professional environments; directing for film, television, and the stage; writing for film, television, and the stage; stage management, event management, talent agent, casting director.

English Language Requirement

Cañada College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
