Welcome to the BSc. (Hons) Industrial Engineering

The program in industrial engineering offers students a base of traditional engineering courses, such as work design, human-machine systems, probability, statistics, and engineering economy, while emphasizing such contemporary areas as simulation modeling, engineering database systems, quality assurance, logistics and supply chain management, operations research, and facilities planning. Students integrate the knowledge acquired in these courses in a two-semester capstone design project.
Industrial engineers apply science, mathematics, and engineering methods to understand and integrate complex systems and processes. They increase productivity and quality by finding improved ways of doing things.
Industrial Engineers need to have knowledge and skills in a wide variety of disciplines. An Industrial Engineering degree at Wits will equip you with a solid foundation in the science of Engineering with an emphasis on developing analytical techniques and generalised problem solving skills.

English Language Requirement

Near East University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.
If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
