Welcome to the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Economics

Economics at Near East University gives you an understanding of core, pure and applied economics. Study a range of different topics, including supply and demand, the role of prices and markets, employment, inflation, the operation of financial institutions and monetary policy.
Businesses and governments rely on economists to help them examine issues, identify trends and deal with  uncertainty. By studying our BA (Hons) Economics degree, you’ll explore how organisations and individuals balance wants, needs and ethics in using, creating and distributing resources.
Throughout the course, we’ll challenge you to think about choices people make and how those decisions affect every aspect of our lives. You’ll explore everything from employment to distribution of wealth, government spending to international trade.
Your future career
As an Economics graduate, you will communicate well. You will have the skills to understand complex arguments and analyse practical issues and data. These skills are valuable in many careers, particularly professional, financial and managerial occupations. They also provide a helpful foundation for many Masters’ degree courses.

English Language Requirement

Near East University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.
If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
