Our public health degree is an
interdisciplinary programme, which broadens students' horizons to explore
health needs and the links between theory and practice in relation to the
concepts and principles of public health. Gain the skills to make public health
better for individuals, communities, and big groups of people. Learn to tackle
big health problems and make things fairer in health for everyone, everywhere. The
Bachelor of Science in Public Health (PBHL) curriculum prepares you for the
work of a Public Health professional which can ranges from addressing the
health needs of people in a very specific locality to promoting health across
the globe. Essentially, students will: Be prepared for entry-level Public
Health professions, and for postgraduate education. Gain experience in global
health with an option to gain study abroad experience. Participate in faculty-led
research that is commensurate with the prospects of a Public Health
professional. Be prepared to enter a master’s degree program in Public Health
such as Master’s in Public Health (MPH), or Master’s in Public Health
Administration (MHA). Public Health professionals protect, promote and assure
the health of individuals, communities and national populations. Frequently,
Public Health professionals play significant roles in infectious disease
prevention, and management of healthcare systems, epidemic outbreaks and
humanitarian emergencies.

Our graduates have gone on to
careers in public health jobs such as social support workers, mental health
rehabilitation support workers, healthcare epidemiologists, health promotion
research officers, Health Officer, Project Manager, Health Research Analyst, Rural
Health Analyst, Disaster Specialist, Health Services Consultant, Humanitarian
Organizations, Program Administrators, Policy Analysis and Planning, Community
Based Prevention Manager, and Management Analyst.
