The bachelor of recreation is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop professional competencies in recreation and leisure service management. The program prepares you to develop, plan and lead recreational activities in a variety of settings.
Our BSc. Recreation major prepares students for positions and careers in recreation management, outdoor leadership and management, and recreational therapy fields. The major offers professional courses within the department and draws from many related majors for competencies and skills in the preparation of professionals for the recreation field. Our curriculum emphasizes the practical and theoretical aspects of recreation by offering supervised field experience and internships in various recreational settings throughout Cyprus and the nation.
The course will help to develop good knowledge in theoretical and practical aspects of all the major sports studies, recreational activities, leisure planning and who are conscious of the moral, political, social and commercial issues that have a bearing on the industry. Students can understand the psychological, sociological, and physiological significance of play, recreation, and leisure. The course will provides skill development required to be a successful recreation manager, fitness expert and physical education enthusiast.
Career Option
Graduates in recreation professions have excelled in the major career branches of recreation. A few of the areas include: Recreation Administration, Commercial Recreation, Outdoor Recreation, Campus Recreation and Recreational Therapy.
