Welcome to the Bachelor of Science Finance

Finance majors are prepared for the increasingly important area of financial management in businesses, firms, and financial institutions. A financial officer is responsible for activities such as raising and allocating funds, cost analysis, forecasting and budgeting, investment management, and formulating financial and credit operating policies.  As finance major at Southeast, you’ll start your journey toward a career in financial planning, investment banking, risk management, insurance and more. Your coursework and experiential learning experiences will prepare you with problem-solving skills employers seek.  Gain experience at Southeast’s Center for Economic and Business Research, which provides undergraduate students with experience conducting and publishing economics research. Operated by Southeast faculty and advised by professionals in the industry. The center develops research, publishes a quarterly newsletter, and hosts meetings to promote economic development in the state of Missouri.

English Language Requirement

Southeast Missouri State University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
