Welcome to the Associate Degree Early Childhood Education (Transfer 2+2)

Associate Degree Early Childhood Education (Transfer 2+2) is intended for students who plan to complete a bachelor's degree in a similar major at California State University.

he Early Childhood Education Associate Degree program prepares students to work as early childhood educators. It combines hands-on fieldwork with related academic work. Graduates become responsible for the care and education of children in the birth-to-eight-years range. They create and maintain safe and healthy play environments, guide behavior, plan and implement learning experiences, and work cooperatively with staff and families.

The Early Childhood Education associate degree program provides students with a foundation in childhood theory and how it’s applied in educational and childcare settings. Students will gain an understanding of early childhood theory and how it can be applied with children from infancy through middle childhood.

Eligibility

English Language Requirement

College of the Canyons will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
