In Grade 3 at the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board, the curriculum continues to follow Québec’s Programme de formation de l’école québécoise (PFEQ), with a stronger emphasis on independent learning and critical thinking. In languages, students move beyond basic comprehension to reading longer texts, developing grammar, and writing short paragraphs with structure. Oral communication is expanded through presentations and discussions, while second language learning (French or English, depending on the school) introduces more vocabulary and simple dialogues. Mathematics progresses to multiplication and division, fractions, measurement, and problem solving strategies. Science and technology encourage experimentation, observation, and early project work, while social sciences introduce local and Canadian history, geography, and civic responsibility. Arts education continues to foster creativity through visual arts, music, drama, and dance, and physical education builds stamina, coordination, and teamwork. Our schools; John F.
