Welcome to the Associate of Arts Degree (Interdisciplinary Studies)

The Interdisciplinary Studies degree is designed for students who wish to pursue broad areas of knowledge in arts and sciences plus additional knowledge in an "Areas of Emphasis." This degree is designed for students who wish to explore different disciplines (subject areas) before deciding on a definite major program prior to transferring to a four-year university, or for students who may not be planning to transfer but wish to earn a degree in a particular area of study that interests them. Apply scientific concepts and principles to explain physical processes in the world. Demonstrate effective communication through written and oral forms, and through other forms as appropriate. Program graduates are prepared for careers that require wearing multiple hats, which can be ideal for smaller employers and non-profits. 

Career Path

The knowledge, skills, and practical experiences gained in Interdisciplinary Studies may be applied across industries and businesses in a variety of fields from public service and education, to healthcare and social services, from arts administration to non-profit administration, just to name a few. Climate Change Analyst, Health Services Administrator, Dietician/Nutritionist, Social and Community Service Managers, securities, Commodities, and Financial Service Sales/Agents, Counselor, Community Health Worker, Public Health Educator, Public Health Educator, Community Activist/Organizer.

English Language Requirement

Skyline College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
