Welcome to the Associate of Science Degree (Hotel Management)

The program is designed to prepare students for various jobs in the hotel industry, the primary objective of the program is to provide students with the necessary skills, knowledge, values and attitudes to occupy operational positions in the hospitality industry. Apply in-depth knowledge and skills in Tourism, Hotel and restaurant operations relative to the provision of goods and services. Develop an awareness of the various career opportunities and options within the hospitality industry.

Demonstrate familiarity with the organizational structures and basic functions of departments within hospitality and foodservice establishments. Recognize the importance of outstanding guest service quality and ethics. Apply the fundamentals of cooking to the preparation of a variety of products. Demonstrate the knowledge to manage the professional preparation, presentation, and service of quality food. Develop supervisory abilities, teamwork, interpersonal, and social skills. Recognize legal and ethical considerations affecting foodservice and lodging organizations. Demonstrate knowledge of computer applications, management information systems, and quantitative methods.

Eligibility

English Language Requirement

College of the Canyons will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
