Welcome to the Bachelor of Arts Psychology

The Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) will provide you with comprehensive training in the processes basic to human psychological functioning required for qualification as a professional psychologist. You can also combine your Psychology major with other disciplines available in the Bachelor of Arts degree. This will allow you to expand your understanding of the human experience and broaden your career options.

Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and its functions, especially those affecting behaviour. Psychology is about understanding who we are and how we think, feel, act and change. This knowledge helps us improve wellbeing and psychological health. Psychologists' clients include children, adults, couples, families and organisations.

Psychology will help you make sense of the human impact on the world in which we live. At Massey, you’ll learn about the natural, social and biological side as well as research methods and applications of psychology. Psychology combines: natural science, focusing on perception, cognition, learning and the biological bases of behaviour; social science, dealing with emotions, individual differences, behaviour and relationships and the wider social context.

Many careers including: counselling, human resources, public health, youth support, policy, rehabilitation psychology, scientific research, special education.

Eligibility

English Language Requirement

Near East University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
