Welcome to the BSc. Communication - Organizational Communication

The Organizational Communication degree is a Concentration in the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Communication offered through the College of Liberal Arts at MTSU. In this concentration, students will: analyze communication dynamics in the context of organizational life; observe, reflect, and become organizational agents of change; learn how to write grants; conduct training sessions; participate in communication auditing and consulting projects. This degree focus offers entry into a range of for-profit and non-profit organizational careers and graduate studies.

Communication is the backbone of any workplace. The Communication major, grounded in the liberal arts tradition at MTSU, builds valuable assets that can lead to many rewarding career opportunities in today’s dynamic workforce. The ability to communicate effectively is one of the most highly sought skills by employers. The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Job Outlook 2020 Survey found that the knowledge and skills taught in Communication courses are essential to being hired.

English Language Requirement

Middle Tennessee State University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
