Welcome to the Associate of Science Degree (Elementary Teacher Education) - Transfer

The Associate in Arts Degree for Transfer (ADT) in Elementary Education degree acknowledges that the student has established a foundation of interdisciplinary knowledge to prepare them for the field of Education. It is intended for students who plan to complete a baccalaureate degree in a similar major at a CSU campus. Demonstrate active participation in the field of elementary education. Produce evidence-based written and oral arguments in interdisciplinary contexts. Communicate their understanding of elementary education concepts through written, oral and visual presentations.  Students will demonstrate a knowledge base of theory specific to childhood (1st-6th grade) education. Students will apply the knowledge base of theory to practice through thoughtful reflections on classroom observations. Students will understand and be conversant about the main philosophical and sociological ideas and trends that have influenced education as well as be able to analyze their application and importance for teaching today.

English Language Requirement

Cañada College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
