Whether
you're interested in a two year degree or a one year certificate, Health
Information Management (HIM) courses will prepare you for a rewarding career in
a growing field. The Health Information
Management program combines medicine, management, finance, information
technology and law into one dynamic career path. Through our flexible online
program, you’ll learn how to design and oversee health information systems
while ensuring that they meet medical, legal, and ethical standards. These
skills, including medical coding (ICD-10 CM, ICD- PCS, and CPT), will have you
ready for a career in a wide variety of healthcare facilities. Our program is
accredited by the Commission on Accreditation on Health Informatics and
Information Education (CAHIIM). Graduates can sit for the Registered Health
Information Technician (RHIT) accreditation exam. As experts in patient health data management, HIM
professionals work in a variety of health care settings including hospitals,
physicians’ offices, home health care agencies, ambulatory health centers,
long-term care facilities, public health offices, government agencies, and
insurance companies. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median
annual wage for medical records and health information technicians (with
