Welcome to the BSc. (Hons) Material Sciences and Nanotechnology Engineering

Our Materials Science and Engineering degree will give you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge and understanding of the scientific, engineering and design aspects of materials, their structure, properties, processing, in-service behaviour and environmental impact.
Our Materials Engineering programme will give you a strong grounding in the physical and chemical structure, properties, manufacturing and design of materials.
Students develop the required technical knowledge and understanding as they progress through their degree, but also gives us the confidence that students will graduate with skills they can apply to a range of future careers or higher-level study.
The curriculum of the program encompasses an array of subjects spanning from foundational physics principles to advanced topics in nanomaterials, surface science, and materials characterization. Students will delve into the exploration of novel materials that hold significant potential in fields such as health, sanitation, defense, clean energy technologies (including solar cells, fuel cells, and hydrogen storage), aerospace, and the semiconductor industry. The program uniquely positions students to grasp the principles of materials engineering and nanotechnology and apply them to real-world challenges
Our degree will prepare you for careers in a wide range of sectors. These include aerospace, automotive, biomedical, energy and sustainability, consumer goods, sports, and defence
