BSc. Nutrition and Food Science - Nutrition and Wellness

The Nutrition and Wellness Concentration in the Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science is offered through the College of Behavioral and Health Science at MTSU. The Nutrition and Wellness concentration, with the increased awareness of the role that nutrition has on wellness, prepares students to work with people of all ages, cultures, and economic means, in individual and group settings, to select foods that will promote healthy body weight and adequate nutrition throughout their life cycles.

Career Path

The major in Nutrition and Food Science offers preparation for careers in community nutrition services; county, state, and federal health departments; food processing; food marketing; and quality control. Examples include Catering manager, Food researcher, Food-service manager (schools, hospitals, residential care facilities, prisons, etc.), Production manager, Public nutrition educator, Purchasing manager, Quality assurance specialist, Restaurant manager and/or owner, Sales representative.

English Language Requirement

Middle Tennessee State University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
