The Washington University School of Law (WashU Law) is the law school of Washington University in St. Louis, a private research university in St. Louis, Missouri. Founded in 1867, it is the oldest continuously operating law school west of the Mississippi River. WashU Law offers JD, LLM, MLS, and JSD degrees, along with a range of dual-degree programs in conjunction with other schools at the university. Currently, the school graduates around 230 to 250 JD students each year. Curriculum designed to prepare skilled attorneys ready to create the future of law. WashU Law’s rich variety of courses helps students tap into their unique interest and career goals while providing the training to excel in both legal reasoning and practice techniques. In addition to offering an outstanding JD curriculum, WashU Law offers multiple dual degree programs with other graduate schools on campus as well as several advanced, graduate programs.

WashULaw Students have access to a wide variety of resources as they work to accomplish their goals and meet the challenges of pursuing a legal education. The Office of Student Life is available to provide personal, professional, and academic advice as well as to make referrals to University and community resources. The Academic Advising Program offers academic workshops throughout the school year. These workshops, while geared towards first-year law students, are open to the entire law school community. They are led by the Peer Academic Advisors and focus on a variety of areas specific to our law school experience, such as effectively and efficiently digesting and outlining course materials, pros and cons of study groups, balancing academic, personal, and extracurricular activities, learning from practice exams, writing successful law school exams, and selecting courses consistent with professional objectives.

Accreditation :

WashU has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission since 1913. The HLC is an institutional accreditor recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit degree-granting colleges and universities. The HLC assesses the institution as a whole, including the soundness of its governance and administration, adherence to mission, the sustainability of its finances, and the sufficiency of its resources.
